This is a list of all of the data layers on the map. Use the arrows to change the order of the layes on the map. Use the slider to change the opacity of a layer

If you click on a data layer feature on the map (e.g. woodland, pond, grassland etc.), information about the feature will appear here. Currently this information is limited to its unique ID, but we plan to add more functionality recommending usage of the area in question.

Either measure an area or length on the map or, alternatively, click on a point on the map to get the coordinates of that point and optionally open a new window in Google Maps or Google Street View. To stop using this tool, please select None.

Drawing tools for adding points, lines, polygons and labels. To add a Text label, choose the required size, type in the label, press Enter on the keyboard and then click on the desired location on the map. To see the drawn features, ensure that the Drawing layer is switched on in the Visible layers section. To stop using this tool, please select None.

The Undo button will remove the last point clicked when drawing a line or polygon. The Remove last button will remove the last drawn feature. The Remove all button will remove all drawn features (this is not reversable). To remove a particular feature, toggle Remove selected feature and click on the feature on the map. Note that all features under the mouse will be deleted.

Note that the on screen map is only used to set the centre. The extent exported depends on the scale and page size. NB layers from external sources may cause problems when exporting the map (such as a blank output), try switching these off if you experience problems.
